You found me! I’m so happy you did!

I am a dedicated communications professional with 15 years of experience developing internal and external communication strategies for non-profits, science-based institutions, and large government agencies. My primary goal is to make environmental research and policy accessible, understandable, relevant, and credible for key audiences - like donors, internal staff, press media, and decision-makers.

With expertise in conveying complex scientific and technical ideas, five years of experience in project management, a graduate certificate in graphic design, and exceptional skills in environmental education, writing, editing, public speaking, and video production, I develop and direct communication strategies to engage audiences and build equitable, accountable, and trusted communications programs. My vast understanding of communication strategies, tools, processes, and best practices is further served by my M.S. Degree in Science Communication from Stony Brook University.

I’ve generally worked for environmental organizations that have a science, stewardship, legal, or advocacy arm. As a Public Affairs Specialist with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, I lead teams in crafting and executing communication strategies to serve our mission for sustainable seafood, recovering endangered and threatened species, and marine mammal protection. This portfolio requires managing multiple projects and people in a fast-moving environment and supporting executive leadership in crisis, change, and rapid-response communications.

I have been successful because of my strengths in project management, delivering results as a strategic and creative thinker, nurturing teams as an empathetic leader with high emotional intelligence, and navigating and advising communication on sensitive or complex issues while understanding the nuances of communicating across cultures and ideologies.
