Puget Soundkeeper
Puget Soundkeeper Alliance
Puget Soundkeeper's mission is to protect and preserve the waters of Puget Sound and its tributaries. Puget Soundkeeper accomplishes its mission through stewardship and education, advocacy and civic engagement programs, and monitoring and enforcement of the Clean Water Act.
Puget Soundkeeper’s stewardship and education programs aim to improve and address water quality concerns in urban waterways by engaging Puget Sound businesses, water recreationalists, and residents in reducing harmful pollution and cleaning up litter and marine debris along and in Puget Sound waterways. Soundkeeper works to protect and improve water quality standards by advocating for strong pollution laws and regulations on the local, state, and federal level. Soundkeeper aims to inspire civic engagement on critical priorities to clean water including stormwater runoff, marine debris, toxic cleanup, wastewater, and fossil fuel transport.
Communications Manager
Among many tasks as Communications Manager at Puget Soundkeeper Alliance, I developed and executed communications plans to support Puget Soundkeeper's civic action lawsuits, which enforces the Clean Water Act and directs funds to environmental education and restoration projects in communities most impacted by pollution; working to solve environmental justice issues across Washington State. My most rewarding communications project was working with students of Soundkeeper’s Lost Urban Creek Program who work to improve water quality in urban streams of South Seattle and South King County watersheds through youth-led, community-based education, stewardship, and civic engagement.
